Amy’s Advice: March 2022 – Dash Cam/DVR Maintenance Tips

Amy's Advice News

Hello, All! My name is Amy, and welcome to Amy’s Advice.

Once a month, you can join me right here for tips and tricks to help you make the most of your tracking experience with us. This month’s recommendation is aimed at those of you who own one of our range of dash cams/DVR systems.

SD cards are classed as consumables, in that they can fail with age and/or become full. For general maintenance, we recommend that you will need to format the SD cards every 6-8 months. This is applicable to our own EC25 dash cams and other brands such as Blackvue and Thinkware, as well as brands which we do not carry.

We would also advise you to check the recordings regularly to make sure your camera(s) are working as they should, and that data is being recorded.

If you have purchased a Blackvue, Thinkware or a brand which we do not carry, instructions on how to do this should be included in the box your camera came in.

APPLICABLE TO OUR EC25/DVR’s:

Please keep the allen key provided to you in a safe place – this is used for removing the SD card and the 4G data SIM card.

Our dash cams/DVRs will have a 4G data sim card inside, even if you are not using the remote view option. We can activate this remotely if you ever require the service.

Insert the SD card into your laptop/PC, and follow the instructions laid out in our DVR guide, which you can find here.
