We here at Trackit247.com wish to say congratulations to trekker Brian Burnie, 76, who has recently completed an impressive 7,000-mile walk, in support of Bluebell Bus Cancer Patient Care!
The aim of this challenge was to encourage donations to Bluebell- helping them to reach their £1 million goal. The Newcastle-based charity and its 350 volunteers provide free transport for outpatients receiving chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy cancer treatment, to and from hospital.
Brian first set off on his journey in March 2018. We are pleased to say that our personal Live GPS Tracker was able to reliably track Brian throughout the full duration of his adventure, providing family, friends and well-wishers peace of mind and the ability to plan to visit Brian along his way. With the SOS button feature and GPS readings set to every 2-5 minutes, getting lost was no longer a worry for the couple; or their followers.
Accompanied by his wife, Cheryl, and equipped with one of our Ti-Prime 300 trackers, Brian was able to defy all odds; rough weather conditions, a country-wide lockdown, and Parkinson’s Disease. Two-and-a-half years; 15,000,000 steps; and over 7,000 miles later, the pair arrived safely back on Newcastle soil on Wednesday 23rd September 2020.
Mr Burnie said upon his arrival home; “To all our volunteers, friends and supporters, thank you very, very much. I never thought I would be standing here two and half years later after 7,036 miles walked.
It’s been incredible and the response I’ve had from cancer centres all over Great Britain and Ireland has been beyond belief.”
We in the Trackit247.com team hope that Brian will have the best of luck in his goal of creating a million free patient journeys a year, and we wish the couple all the happiness in the world (they were married in secret in August 2018-during their walk!). In some ways, their journey has only just begun.

Our Reviews
Dave Harrison, Communications at Bluebell Bus, had these kind words to say about us:
“Trackit247 supplied a Personal Live GPS Tracker to locate Brian and monitor his progress. This service has been invaluable.
There have been many occasions where the charity’s staff have been genuinely worried about his health and rural location during harsh conditions, but the TrackIt247 service made it simple to locate him and view his direction of travel; along with historical data.
Map layout choices are excellent, and the long battery life of the unit was a real bonus. The service and the unit worked flawlessly, throughout the whole of the UK and Ireland.
The App gave supporters and well-wishers the opportunity to accurately locate Brian, track a route to meet with him, and offer their support and encouragement.
The charity is exceptionally grateful to Trackit247 for their superb service and their support.”.
